Fabian Ruiz Shares How PSG Squad Handles Mbappé Saga Amid Real Madrid Links

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Fabian Ruiz spoke with the media on Tuesday ahead of the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 first leg against Real Sociedad. 

While there were questions about the match, some were about the future of Kylian Mbappé. Ruiz answered a question regarding the 25-year-old’s future and noted that it’s a topic that isn’t discussed in the dressing room.

“We are focused on the match; for his future, he will decide,” Ruiz told reporters (h/t Paris Fans). “We don’t talk about it. There, the only subject is tomorrow’s match.”

Furthermore, Ruiz noted the mood inside the dressing room for this crucial Champions League clash. Considering PSG finished in second place, the Parisians secured a favorable draw where it’s at least an even matchup. Nonetheless, the team isn’t taking this challenge lightly.

“We know it’s a very important match,” Ruiz added. “The atmosphere remains the same. There is enthusiasm, but we remain calm. We work well. We know we have a good match. We want to do well.”

PSG is currently at the top of the Ligue 1 table, in the Coupe de France quarterfinals, and preparing for a Round of 16 matchup against Real Sociedad in the UEFA Champions League. So, they’re positioned to win a treble this season, which many view as a rebuilding year.
