Lonnie Walker IV: "My Jump Shot's Too Beautiful To Be Missing Too Many Shots."
David Richard-USA TODAY Sports

Lonnie Walker IV spoke about his recent shooting success by complimenting the prettiness of his shot.

Lonnie Walker IV has been a revelation for the Los Angeles Lakers this season. He has been crucial in helping the Lakers space the floor and provides some scoring on a team that is limited by skill set. Walker IV left the San Antonio Spurs to join the Lakers on a one-year deal but seems to be playing up his value for the next free agency.

Walker has been shooting the skin off the ball this season, converting his 3-point attempts at a 39% clip. After a slow start to the season, he has been incredibly useful as a spacer on the Lakers, playing with incredible confidence. He revealed the secret behind this success and attributed it to just something that is pretty to look at.

Lonnie has averaged 16.0 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.6 assists this season. While there are still things he could improve to have an even bigger contribution to the Lakers, he has been an extremely solid signing. His consistency will be the biggest factor in ensuring the Lakers' success this season.

Will Lonnie Walker IV Leave At The End Of The Season?

Walker signed a 1-year contract with the Lakers on the mid-level exception, which means he can hit free agency next offseason and get a better contract. The Lakers will have cap space to ensure they can pay the price to keep him but they might prioritize a high-level free agent instead.

Malik Monk just spent a year on the Lakers to play his value up and signed a lucrative contract with the Sacramento Kings this offseason. The Lakers couldn't afford to keep him, but they will have the money to keep Lonnie. So, it may make for an interesting dilemma in the offseason for the purple and gold franchise.
