The Alabama Crimson Tide are busy preparing for their semifinal matchup with the Michigan Wolverines. With how the college football schedule works, they are also dealing with the transfer portal. Former four-star recruit and offensive tackle rotation piece Elijah Pritchett announced he is entering the transfer portal.
BREAKING: Alabama OT Elijah Pritchett plans to enter the Transfer Portal, he tells @on3sports
The 6’6 325 OT was ranked as the No. 4 OT in the ‘23 Class (per On3 Industry)
Will have 3 years of eligibility remaining https://t.co/BEX9ubBeuj pic.twitter.com/RUgnEfiZq6

Per On3, the 6-foot-6, 325-pound tackle was the fourth-ranked offensive tackle in the 2023 cycle. Unlike many freshmen on these talent-rich teams, Pritchett saw action in all 13 games this season. While it was on a rotation with others, he still played an important part on the offense. He is the sixth player from Nick Saban’s team to enter the portal in these first couple of weeks. Given his size and the position he plays, Pritchett should get a lot of interest in the portal.
Both Alabama and Georgia have seen a lot of players enter the transfer portal this offseason. It has led some to worry about what is happening at these programs. I don’t share the same worry. This is the new college football landscape. Players will leave for different opportunities no matter what program they are a part of. Some leave for more playing time while others are looking for a bigger share of NIL money. It is something that we all are going to have to get used to.
Can the Crimson Tide capture another title in 2023? They have to get through a tough Michigan team but they have shown that they can hang with the best in all of college football.
