A reporter has sent a warning to Doug Gottlieb over the media personality’s new job.

Earlier this week, Gottlieb was hired by the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay to be their new head basketball coach. Gottlieb, a former college basketball point guard, has served as a radio host for FOX Sports since 2017. He plans to continue hosting his daily radio show while also serving as a Division I basketball coach.

People are questioning how Gottlieb will be able to balance both jobs, considering both require significant time commitments. Apparently Gottlieb’s coaching colleagues don’t think he’ll succeed at coaching and are eager to play him.

College basketball reporter Jeff Goodman shared a post on X Thursday saying that he’s had at least 10 coaches reach out to him in hopes of being connected with Gottlieb to schedule a game to play Green Bay.

It’s very clear that these coaches do not think Gottlieb’s plan to work two full-time jobs is a recipe for success.

During an interview with “The Dan Patrick Show” this week, Gottlieb talked about why he will continue to host his radio show.

“It allows me to take less money financially and not take a huge hit, and then hire a staff that already knows what I don’t know,” Gottlieb contended.

Coaching a Division I college basketball team and hosting a daily sports talk radio show are both seven-day-a-week, year-round jobs. Either job requires a tremendous amount of time and attention. Trying to do both at the same time will not be easy. The sentiment seems to be: good luck, Coach Gottlieb.
